Planning a budget holiday – Think Ikogosi .

Posted on Posted in Budget Holiday, Discounts & Deals

I love going on holidays, whether long or short, be it beach, mountain, safari camps. I just love to lounge and explore.

In Nigeria, a lot people feel that all holidays must be abroad. But then, going abroad on a holiday can be quite pricey and if family budgets are tight, taking a vacation may be the last thing on your mind.

We neglect our country a lot, and there are so many holiday spots in Nigeria that are pocket friendly. I took a short vacation sometime last year to Ikogosi warm spring resort at Ekiti State. It was a very lovely experience for me. We spent the weekend there and I was so relaxed by the time we got back to Lagos. Enjoy the pictures.

Walkway to the swimming pool
Lovely swimming pool – The pool water is  straight from the rock.
The point were the cold & warm water converges but they never mix. Amazing work of God.

  1. Very true, DH and I were there for a weekend and it was so relaxing. We had so much fun and didn’t have to break the bank. We spent exactly 50k including transport as we also chose not to drive.

The resort drove us to the Arinta waterfall at no cost and we had to use the clinic when he hit a toe against a stone – at no cost too. It’s a bit of a distance but he’s been itching to go back.

    1. @ib, we also made use of the clinic as my daughter suddenly started running a fever. I don’mind visiting again.

  2. Ikogosi has improved oh! when i visited years ago they didn’t have a functional hotel and of course the cars where non existent. But with all these add ons sounds like we may pay a visit again soon 😉
